Alexandria Symphony Orchestra Concert to Feature Kennedy Center Cafritz Opera Program Musicians

Alexandria, VA – January 28, 2026 – The Alexandria Symphony Orchestra (ASO), under the direction of Music Director James Ross, presents Beethoven & Bohème, an exciting program spotlighting vocalists from the Kennedy Center’s Cafritz Young Artists of Washington National Opera, a highly selective training program for emerging artists whose alumni regularly appear with major opera companies and orchestras.

The program opens with Ludwig van Beethoven’s buoyant Symphony No. 8, followed by Unsuk Chin’s Subito con Forza, a dynamic and energetic work from one of today’s most compelling composers.

The Cafritz vocalists will join the ASO for the second half of the program to perform selections from Puccini’s La Bohème, which captures the romance, joy, and heartbreak of Puccini’s timeless story of love and friendship.
