What you need to know about attending an ASO concert
CONCERT INFORMATION EMAILS:
All ASO ticket buyers with a valid email address will receive updated concert information messages on the Thursday prior to the scheduled Saturday and Sunday concerts. The message will include any updates/changes to the information listed on this page (i.e. Parking, Intermission, etc.). Please contact Ryan Jordan at jordan@alexsym.org if you are not receiving these messages.
DIRECTIONS & PARKING:
- Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center (Saturday Venue) is located at 4915 East Campus Drive on the Alexandria Campus of the NOVA Community College at the corner of North Beauregard Street and West Braddock Road. The ASO provides complimentary free parking in the garage across from the Center. Please disregard the meters in the garage. Please note, you will receive a ticket if you park in any other location on campus.
- George Washington Masonic Memorial (Sunday Venue) is located at 101 Callahan Drive in Alexandria, VA. The GWMM parking lot is located on the north side once you reach the top of the driveway. Parking is free. All patrons should enter the Memorial on the parking lot side of the building, where the handicap ramp can be found as well.
CONCERT ARRIVAL/ ELEVATOR ACCESS:
Seating begins 30 minutes before the start of each concert. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the concert to ensure enough time to access your seats. The Schlesinger Center elevator is located near the first-floor restrooms. The GWMM elevator* is located near the information desk.
*Please note that the GWMM elevator runs slowly and can only be operated by GWMM personnel. We strongly encourage you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to start time if you intend to use it.
PRE-CONCERT INTERACTIVE TALKS (Saturday night concerts only):
For the 2024-2025 Season, pre-concert interactive talks will be held at 6:30pm in the Terrace Section (first floor) for the Saturday night concerts only. More details will be announced closer to the performance dates.
LATE SEATING:
- Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall & Arts Center: Late arrivals will be seated during seating breaks only and not while the orchestra is playing.
- George Washington Masonic Memorial: Due to the location of the concert hall entrances and the setup of the orchestra, patrons will not be able to access the main seating section once the performance has already started. If available, patrons will be directed to sit in the ADA handicapped section (second floor) until intermission. During intermission, you may then access your assigned seat(s).
INTERMISSION:
An intermission of 20 minutes will be included for the September/October, November, February, and April programs. The December program will not include an intermission.
BOX OFFICE:
On-site box office (includes ticket sales and will call) will open 60 minutes prior to the start of the concert. If you have any issues with your tickets on the night of the performance, please stop by!
