Garden Sounds: Maestro Jim’s Send-Off

Tuesday, May 12, 2026 • 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Waterfront Residence of Martha Lloyd and Ronal Butler

On May 12, Garden Sounds returns with Maestro Jim’s Send-Off. This event not only celebrates the great outdoors and the Alexandria Symphony’s trademark smorgasbord programming, but a chance to acknowledge Maestro Jim Ross. The program will take guests on a musical journey through the places he has played and conducted and the experiences that have shaped his remarkable career.

Subtle tributes to Jim will be woven throughout the evening, with sponsorship levels named after places he’s lived and worked, as well as a custom cocktail, The Jim & Tonic! Attendees will enjoy catered appetizers, drinks, a silent auction, and human stories connected with musical ones.

In the case of rain, Garden Sounds will be moved to the following day, May 13.

Individual Tickets are $150 per person.
